Heal Faster with Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)
With advancements in medical technology, our office utilizes this procedure to effectively improve healing and provide better treatment outcomes for our patients. PRF is a 100% natural by-product of your own blood containing concentrated amounts of platelets and growth factors to stimulate your own stem cells to regenerate new tissue faster.
To collect PRF, we draw your own blood (less than the amount drawn at your annual physical) and centrifuge it. This separates the platelets and growth factors found in your blood into a concentrated medium. The PRF is then applied to the area of your mouth being treated, thereby accelerating your body’s healing process. Cosmetic rejuvenation, joint pain, hair regeneration, and dental surgeries are only a few of the treatments used for this all-natural treatment.
When is PRF used?
PRF is used during dental procedures such as extractions, bone grafts, sinus lifts, and dental implant procedures. It is also incorporated into many of the skin rejuvenation procedures offered in our office.
What are the benefits of PRF?
Convenient: It is quickly produced during the same appointment as your procedure (~10min)
Predictability: PRF provides our doctors more control of your treatment and improves treatment outcomes
Improved Healing: Patients recover quicker and with less pain due to PRF’s wound healing properties, increasing tissue regeneration
Is PRF safe?
Yes, it is very safe as it is 100% derived from a patient’s blood. There are no other ingredients or additives incorporated into PRF. Your own blood is simply spun down in a centrifuge to separate the “good stuff” from the rest.
